Absolutely! Most people try and charge their devices in their car, but most commutes are relatively short. Many people need to charge their phone at least once a day during the day to get through the evening. And even more importantly, very few people carry an extra charger, or even their phone charging cord, with them wherever they go. People often use our power banks to charge not only their phone, but also tablets, earbuds, and even vape pens! It only takes a few rentals per day to make the station a successful venture. DEMO
What types of devices will it charge?
Each charger comes with Type-C, Lightning (iOS) and Micro USB connections to allow almost any standard device, such as cell phones, earbuds, tablets and even vape pens to charge. The battery has enough capacity to charge a standard sized cell phone battery from 0-100% one and 1/2 times, so they can share w/friends or charge multiple devices if needed.
First, the host venue avoids the liability of dealing with customer's devices. No lost, damaged, or stolen devices anymore. No more man hours spent dealing with customer devices.
Second, MONEY! Host venues get a share of the revenue from the rentals and also from the advertising on the kiosk. Venues also benefit directly from more customers (an avg of +7%), with longer stay times, and added exposure. The kiosk can also be used to cross/up-sell customers about other events or specials to promote the venue's own business. There are even options to use the kiosks to increase customer follow-up and engagement. And there are even options to benefit from other locations having kiosks as well.
Every venue is different, but if your venue has an average of just 5 rentals per day, the venue's revenue share will likely be about $150 per month. The ad revenue could easily double that, although that tends to take a little longer to build up momentum. There are ways to further increase that as well, but talk with us to determine your best options.
In theory, this is a valid concern. However, the amount spend on an average rental is just about $5, so not significant enough to cause a change in someone's spending. Once they rent though, >98% will stay at that location so they can turn the charger in upon completion of their charge. This takes up to an hour and a half depending on their device and the level of charge needed. They are effectively 'tethered' to your location for well over an hour on average. This means MORE revenue for your venue, not to mention the revenue you get from the rental itself. You get more customers and for longer duration, and the venue gets ALL of that revenue!
Not a problem. This is done somewhat frequently actually as companies see it as a way to generate goodwill with their customers. There is simply a flat fee per month charged to the venue, which is generally much less than the individual charge rental rates would be. However, while this is seen initially as a great benefit, people tend to value it only as much as they paid for it. (No cost = no value) There may be better ways to promote this, speak to us to learn more.
No worries, this happens once in a while. The chargers are actually allowed to be rented in one location and returned to ANY location within 24-48 hours. So, this does not happen as often as you might think. Users can use the free app to find locations (including yours) for pick-up and returns. However, If they ultimately fail to return it, the venue is out $0.00. The user is charged the replacement fee, which is covered in the initial rental. The charger is then replaced, free of charge to the venue. This is pretty rare though because the charger itself is useless to them after their initial rental. Only our authorized charging stations are capable of charging them back up, so they are just a paperweight after their initial charging period. The kiosks are also insured against damage caused by the kiosk (General Liability).
The stations are brand new and very modern. They tend to be viewed as quite a nice addition. However, if a venue is concerned about this, they can actually pay a small fee to have the station 'wrapped' with their own branding or design (subject to approval).
The charging station(s) used are designed to be flexible in order to meet the venue's needs. Modular models can be used to scale up and larger stations can be used for venues with extremely high traffic. We have models of varying size and we will work with you to determine the model best suited for your venue.
